B-town cancels New Year plans

The ripples of Delhi’s ghastly gangrape incident — that saw thousands protesting for over two weeks — is being felt in Bollywood too. Pained by the shocking incident, many top Bollywood stars have decided to mourn the death of the victim and cancelled their New Year celebration plans.
According to sources, the Bachchan family will not celebrate New Year this time. ‘There’s absolutely no appetite for celebration in the Bachchan parivar. Both Amitji and Jayaji are extremely upset by what has happened in Delhi. All plans in the Bachchan family for the New Year have been cancelled,’ said a source.
Others like the Kapoor family (Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir) and the Roshans have also cancelled plans.
Hema Malini also called off the get together she planned for daughter Esha and son-in-law.
Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar also cancelled the party at their Lonavala farmhouse.
