B-Boying comes calling to Delhi’s booty shakers
If you love to shake a leg or two, here is some good news. The B Boying Championship is coming all the way to the Capital from the UK.

Known as one of the world’s greatest Hip Hop events, it would give local talents an opportunity to present their dancing skills and for the first time would have India a part of the Championship.

Hosted by Sony Music’s Zomba along with British Council, the championship would give out a platform dedicated entirely to Hip-Hop Culture in India.

‘Day 1 is an independent music initiative under Zomba which aims to promote the urban culture scene in India. It majorly focusses on three activities — DJing, Break Dance and Rapping,’ said Jayesh Veralkar, Label Head, Day 1, Sony Music.

The event will have two judges from the international circuit — Anthony Jackson and Spin from the Soul Mavericks Crew who will not only judge but also conduct workshops.

‘The purpose of bringing this championship to India is to promote the breaking dance culture. Breaking is not only a dance but also a form of acrobatics. India through this would also represent its participants globally,’ said Jayesh.

The UK B Boy Championship India showcase will witness local talent compete to determine who is the best breaker in the country is.

‘The rules and regulations are same as the International standards. It would start first with the elimination rounds and the winners from the following three cities would head to Mumbai for the finale.
