In this age of social media, Durga pujas in the city are increasingly using the medium to creatively promote their pujas.
In recognition of their efforts, an award “Sharodiya Digital Impact Awards” has been instituted this year.Judged by prominent personalities like danseuse-social activist Alokananda Roy, singer-lyricist Surojit Chatterjee, music director-band singer Siddhartha Sankar Ray Sidhu and a host of other celebrities - the award took care of different parameters.
The parameters consisted of creative aspects of digital promotion - from concept to execution of the Puja page, posted comments, frequency of puja campaign-celebration updates, overall look and feel of the page and its impact on the users.
Alakananda told media persons, “It was a difficult job to pick the three puja committtees from a whopping 500 entries from different places. But what possibly tilted the scales is how the winners used the social media in the most effective and creative manner by reaching out to the people.”
The Winner ‘Golf Club Road Durga Puja Committee’, and the two runners-ups Sahapur Panchabatitala Sammillani and Keshtopur Prafulla Kanan (Poschim) Adhibasi Brinda got the trophies from jury members on Monday.
