Aviation Min assures Rawat of aerial services expansion in U'khand

The central government will take efforts to promote <g data-gr-id="37">tourism</g> sector in Uttarakhand with the expansion of aerial services, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said, after a meeting with Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju here on Thursday.

The central government will sincerely look after the pending proposals of the state government and promote tourism sector, Rawat said. The CM pitched for providing <g data-gr-id="18">status</g> of <g data-gr-id="19">international</g> airport to Jollygrant Domestic Airport. He also reminded Raju of the pending proposal of the expansion of Dehradun and Pantnagar airport.

 “There are tremendous opportunities for tourism in Uttarakhand which need to be tapped for growth and development. The centre will soon look after the state proposals and take appropriate timely decisions. The Pantnagar airport will be developed as <g data-gr-id="30">cargo</g> airport. The centre is also looking for the expansion of Jollygrant and Pantnagar airport,” Raju said. 

The state government proposal pertaining to providing night landing of <g data-gr-id="28">helicopter</g> will be considered after reviewing security and other sensitive issues. The union minister also assured CM that all pending issues of state government at the central level will be considered soon. The union minister assured of taking positive action pertaining to all state proposals forwarded to <g data-gr-id="24">central</g> government for implementation.
