Auto with school girls rams into bus

On Wednesday, an auto-rickshaw carrying nine school girls rammed into a bus. The incident took place around 7 am near Raj Nagar area on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. The girls were Class XII students of City Government Intermediate School in Jakhampura.

Three of the victims, including the auto driver, were critically injured and were rushed to a private hospital. The driver of the bus managed to escape from the spot.

The girls were on their way to their school, when the speeding bus with number plate DL 1 PC 3750 overtook the auto and stopped suddenly in front of it. As the auto was also in high speed, the driver lost control and rammed into the bus.

The victims, identified as Kajal (15), Kavita (16) and driver Ajit (32) are still in intensive care unit (ICU). 

The others, identified as Jyoti, Yeshmati, Sakuntala, Kusum, Deepika, Lalita and Seema, suffered minor injuries and were shifted to civil hospital after first aid.

'We have seized the bus and are trying to trace the driver. A case of rash and negligent driving against him has been registered', said Surendra Pal, DCP, West Gurgaon.

In yet another case, a speeding Endeavour car, driven by a woman, collided with a taxi near Sector-51 in Gurgaon. The driver of both the cars suffered only minor injuries.
