Assistant SI run over by truck

Police are investigating whether it was an accident or a murder. Misra who was posted at Amdanga police station was trying to move a lorry, which was parked at Aamdanga’s Sonadanga crossing, when another speeding lorry, coming from the opposite direction, hit him from behind and fled away.

The police officer died on the spot. The police are conducting search to nab the driver of the vehicle.

Following the incident the districts police have start a crack down on an illegal 

parking on the sides of national highway and other busy roads.
