Art attack at city mall on 14 August

Every Independence Day, as the flags fly high, we stand proud reminiscing the glorious history of our nation. With this feeling of patriotism and freedom of expression which forms an integral part of our Constitution in mind, a special programme  has been organised in the city.

The art mob will bring together students from various art institues like NIFT, Delhi College of Art among others, to express their thoughts in a programme called Mob Art.

Mob Art will see a participation by about 30 students from various art schools. With no themes specified for the event, the students will have a free hand at expressing their art and thoughts on a canvas provided at the venue.

The paitings and art which will be then judged by a panel of judges including gallerist Sunaina Anand, author  Hemant Kumar, artist GR Iranna, curator Alka Raghuvanshi and designer Joy Mitra. These paintings will, then be exhibited for the next 15 days in the mall.

‘It will be  a reality check for the students participating. It will give me an insight into how this younger generation perceive the Independence,’ said noted curator Alka Raghuvanshi.
