Arresting one’s soul –Giraftaari

Inspired from a German novel, The Trial, written by one of the most influential writer of the 20th century Germany, Franz Kafka, the theatrical adaptation depicts the current social, administrative and legal system of India.

Presented by Montage Film and Theatre Production, written and directed by Rama Pandey, it beautifully represents how knowingly or unknowingly one continues to fall prey to the system.
Shovana Narayan, an eminent Kathak dancer and MLA Somnath Bharti, former Law Minister were present to see the performance.
Shovana complimented the exceptional work done by the artists and congratulated Rama Pandey for a phenomenal completion of the play.

She said, “The experiences of Kafka as mentioned in his novel were adapted brilliantly in the performance. It is a play with universal appeal and the  story was intricately woven with the plot.
The play excellently presented the spiral of social situations which may lead one nowhere. It created an indirect connect, allowing a person to unravel the mysteries of life.

Somnath Bharti praised the artists for their commendable performance. He said, “The play reminds me as to how we are stuck in the basic social system of life. It makes us realise the fact how we are under arrest by our own thoughts and deeds.” Artists from different background and varied age group of 18-80 years were seen performing in their highest spirits and positivity.
They depicted an unfollowed path and the flip side of a coin which is not explored. It pricked one’s conscience where anything can happen around and within them.

Trying to express the complications of life and leaving an impact was the sole purpose which was fulfilled by an applause. Sometimes life may play games, revolve around a person again and again, in the the same social circle. One may want to come out of this spiral and shout out loud in the race, but a spiral of silence may conquer the entire play.

The ecstatic depiction was followed, making an individual keep an eye on every movement. It tries to tell that not being able to do what one desires may drown a person to the deep pothole of guilt and regression. Ultimately, it is not easy to understand the mind game and to work on one’s own salvation.
