Singer Ariana Grande shut down a fan on social media after he made a critical comment about her appearance in a new music video. The 22-year-old pop star recently released her Dangerous Woman promo, in which she is featured lounging on a couch in singing about empowerment and seduction.
But a fan called Jonathan disapproved of Grande’s sultry video, and decided to take to her official Facebook page to give her a piece of his mind, reported New York Daily News. A commenter wrote on one of the singer’s posts, “Ariana all respect, but dangerous woman I loved but the trouble is that in he [sic] video salts like a whore!...sorry for the rudeness, I only just said the truth...SORRY.” reports eonline.com. The singer took notice of the comment and replied to the critical fan nine days after the initial comment, by pointing out how often women are held to a different standard than men, writing, “When will people stop being offended by women showing skin/expressing sexuality? Men take their shirts off/express their sexuality on stage, in videos, on Instagram, anywhere they want to... all the time. “The double standard is so boring and exhausting, with all due respect... woman can love their bodies too!!” Since replying to Jonathan, her comment has garnered nearly 2,000 likes from fans. In November last year, she slammed an online body shamer after they cruelly poked fun at the pop star’s thin frame.
