AR Rahman is a big fan of Bharadwaj’s work

The Academy Award winner AR Rahman said he is a big fan of filmmaker-music director Vishal Bharadwaj’s work and picks Omkara as latter’s one of the best works.

“I have seen Omkara properly. I don’t have patience ...I usually do fast forward and see but Omkara I watched fully. I loved the art, the way he directed, music. I have liked his work in Maachis as well,” Rahman told reporters here at a promotional event of upcoming film Jugni.  “I am a big fan of him and his work. He is a great person... artist. I am excited to be here,” he said.

Omkara was a crime-drama adapted from Shakespeare’s Othello. Vishal composed the music for the film, including the background score. Maachis, directed by Gulzar, had Vishal’s music which was one of the film’s highlights. Debutant director Shefali Bhushan has managed to bring two of the biggest names in Hindi music industry - Rahman and Bhardwaj - on board to sing one track each in her directorial debut, Jugni. Jugni is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
