Appointments committee clears three PS postings

In a second major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has rejigged senior bureaucrats and appointed three as PS to ministers on Friday. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of 14 bureaucrats including senior IRS officer Deepak Shetty, who was on Friday appointed as Director General of Shipping. In addition to these, the appointment of three new private secretaries to central ministers has been cleared by the ACC.

Sunil Kumar, a 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer, has been appointed as PS to Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Anant G Geete. Ravi Kumar, a 2000 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed PS to Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises GM Siddeshwara. Yashpal, a 1999 batch Haryana Civil Service officer, has been appointed Private Secretary to Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.
