Anushka commences Sultan shooting

Actor Anushka Sharma has started shooting for Sultan in which she stars opposite Salman Khan.

This is the first time 27-year-old actor, who made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 2008, will share screen space with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star.

Anushka took to Twitter to share the excitement. “New beginnings ... New journey .. Heading for the first day of #Sultan shoot . Excited !! Here we go .. !!,” she tweeted.

The film’s helmer Ali Abbas Zafar also took to the micro-blogging site to welcome the leading lady.

“Just wrapped 1st day of shoot with @AnushkaSharma. Team @SultanTheMovie welcomes you on broad...” 

The news of Anushka coming on board as the female lead for the film, came almost a year after the movie was announced and names of a slew of actors from Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon and Parineeti Chopa cropped up for the role.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, Sultan will hit the screens this Eid in a box office clash with Shah Rukh Khans Raees.
