Anti-rape activist’s vehicle stoned

Prominent anti-human trafficking activist Sunitha Krishnan’s Safari car was stoned by unknown persons when the vehicle was parked nearby Charminar bus stop on Friday morning.

Incidentally, the offence took place just hours after she launched a nationwide online campaign ‘Shame The Rapists’ by uploading the photographs of the six alleged rapists. Soon after launching the national campaign, her parked car behind Charminar bus stand was stoned by unknown miscreants. Based on her complaint a case was registered by Charminar police.

Sunitha Krishnan, who runs an NGO in Hyderabad, found two separate videos of six men involved in gang-rape and smiling for the camera during the act, after they were shared on WhatsApp. She then posted the video on YouTube, Facebook and on Twitter after editing it so that the victim’s identity was protected. The video is believed to be at least six months old.
