Anti-eve-teasing drive leads 50 offenders in police net

The anti-eve-teasing drive that had started on September 5, in <g data-gr-id="39">Gurgaon</g> has recorded more than 50 complaints. According to the information received from the police, the anti-eve-teasing squad registered 48 complaints against boys caught eve-teasing in public places.

There have been four <g data-gr-id="19">Juveniles</g> in this case, against whom, no strict action have been taken, and they were left after signing a legal document, which warns of the offense.

In the remaining cases, the police have come forward with preventive measures including counseling and teaching lessons of “how to behave with girls in public”.

These offenders were booked under Section 160 of the Indian Penal Code. 

“We are here to control the increase of crime in Gurgaon. The responsibility of punishing the people are not under our jurisdiction, it is the matter that the court has to decide and impose fines against the offenders”, Dharma Yadav, ACP Sardar, said.
