Anti-drug Day celebrated in state

To raise awareness against the usage of drugs the Border Security Force organised various cycle rally at the bordering areas of Dinhata. The local villagers took part in the campaign along the BSF jawans and the senior officers.

The campaign was done to educate the people about the ill effects of having drugs. It was often seen that the drug peddlers engage the poor villagers at the bordering areas and engage them in the business.

The district police in Hooghly also organised a colourful procession to carry out an anti drug campaign in which the school students also took part in the event. A rally was started from Rishra police station and travelled various parts of the district.

The students were holding placards, banners and festoons displaying the ill effects of taking drug and tobacco. It was often seen that school and college students often indulge in such habits from the early age having an adverse impact on their lives. Organisers feel spreading awareness is the only option to check usage of drugs and tobacco.
