Anti-conversion law: After Paswan, Kushwaha irked now

After Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) chief Ramvilas Paswan opposing the BJP’s proposal for an anti-conversion law, another key ally of NDA, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), has raised its reservations over the controversial law.

Speaking to Millennium Post, Minister of State for HRD Upendra Kushwaha said he doesn’t favour any law to check conversion as there already exist provisions to check coercion and allurement for conversion. Given the fact that BJP failed in opening its account in Kashmir region in the just concluded J&K assembly poll, the stand of both the regional satraps on conversion could be seen as a move to ‘preserve’ their minority vote bank in their political battlefield, Bihar.
