In a rare move, Delhi University has decided to release the eighth cut-off list for admission to its undergraduate programme on 23 July.
On Wednesday, the varsity had released the seventh cut-off list and it had been informed that admissions under the seventh cut-off list would wrap-up admissions for this year.
But on Friday, Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean, Students Welfare, said, 'In order to fill the sizeable number of seats reserved for SC/ST and OBC categories in various courses across colleges, a section of which are yet to be filled, an eighth cut-off list will be released.
‘Under the list, admission is likely to be opened for general category students too.’
As per a notice issued by the university, the eighth cut-off list will be released at 9 am on 23 July.
The admission and payments of fees under the eighth cut-off list will be held between 23 and 25 July. Â
Colleges will not be allowed to admit students after 31 July under any circumstances.
DU has also directed colleges to ensure that all seats reserved for SC/ST and OBC are duly filled by candidates of the respective categoies by lowering the cut-off for admission to undergraduate courses under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP).
