Amity student hangs self at Noida campus

A student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room at Amity University, Noida, on Friday, said police. The student has been identified as Sai Krishna Gandrath and he was pursuing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Facility Management. 

According to his friends, at around 2 pm on Friday when they were going to have lunch, Gandrath insisted them to leave him alone for some time. “You go, I will join in 10 minutes,” said Gandrath’s roommate, quoting his last words. After some time when he didn’t come, a friend went to see him and found him hanging from the ceiling. “We immediately rushed to the hostel warden and alerted other hostel mates,” he added. 

Gandrath was immediately shifted to Kailash Hospital, Sector 27, Noida. After preliminary examination by the doctors, he was declared brought dead and the incident was reported to the Noida sector-20 police station.
