Amit Shah to address Balmiki community

With an eye to garner support of the Dalit community in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, BJP’s national president Amit Shah will address a rally of the community in the city on Tuesday.

The party will focus on Balmiki community which has strong presence in at least half a dozen assembly seats in the Capital.

The Balmiki community, who are considered traditional voters of Congress shifted to AAP in the last assembly polls which was one of the major reasons for Congress’ fall in Delhi.

The community commands influence in Kalyanpuri, Seemapuri, Sultanpur Majra, Trilokpuri, Patel Nagar, Kondali, and also in New Delhi constituencies. Madhya Pradesh’s Dalit leader of BJP Kailash Vijayvarghya is also expected to attend the rally.
