Amber’s dog-smuggling case adjourned

Actor Johnny Depp’s wife Amber Heard did not appear at a court hearing on Monday On the allegation that she illegally brought their dogs Pistol and Boo to Queensland.

The 29-year-old The Rum Diary actor has to wait till November to find out if she faces jail time over the case, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Heard was charged in July with two counts of smuggling their dogs into Australia and one count of producing a false document.

She could be forced to pay a hefty fine of up to $100,000 or serve up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.

However, legal experts argued that a lengthy jail term was unlikely because the dogs were flown back to the US before a government deadline.

The controversy began in May when Heard was accompanying Depp to Australia to continue filming the newest sequel of the pirate movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
