All of Sona’s films nominated for Golden Kela

Have tonnes to say about the terrible movies that had us wasting money, time and popcorn at costly multiplexes? Here’s an excellent balm to it all. The Indian version of the Razzies (Golden Raspberry Awards for the worst of Hollywood), the Golden Kela Awards hits its fifth year and are going at it with a vengeance and we love it!

While 2012 has been a fair year for Bollywood with almost every other film making it to the much hyped Rs 100 crores club, like all film industries — they delivered some stunning duds as well. So while audience may approve of Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone fighting it out for the worst actress of 2012, they also have made it to the Bawara Ho Gaya Hai Ke category for wasting all that money behind movies like
Son of Sardar
, Joker, Kismat Love Paisa Dilli that pretty much had us wanting to lynch directors. Sonakshi Sinha has it worst as all her movies have been nominated.

Brace yourselves for the ‘Cream of the Crap in Bollywood’ as they put it. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and both Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan will be fighting it out for worst actor and Son of Sardar, Joker, Housefull 2, Dabangg 2 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be vying for the worst film badge. Besides the usual categories of worst director, worst sequel, most irritating song, most atrocious lyrics and the ‘Why are you still trying’ categories, the awards has a few new ones up their sleeve. The Mera Naam Joker Award for Longest Film Of The Year, Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya Award and the Beta, Tumse Na Ho Payega Award will be announced.

Jatin Varma, Founder, Golden Kela Awards, says: ‘As expected, sequels topped the chart this year with eight nominations in the Worst Sequel category.’

Voting lines open on 1 January and ends 1 March. Get online and vote away! Your caustic support will be much appreciated!
