‘All constructions under LF regime are collapsing’

She alleged that the Left Front had engaged the firm to construct the bridge. “They had contacts with several firms whose credentials were not clear. God forbid that the tall buildings constructed during Left Front regime in Rajarhat do not collapse,” she said adding that all constructions made during their time are collapsing. Mamata Banerjee was addressing a political rally at Mohonpur on Friday afternoon.

She said many important files and documents related to selection of the firm and tender process are missing. The police is investing into the matter and no one will be spared, she maintained.

Banerjee who is confident about Trinamool Congress’ victory in the election said: “We are coming. People will vote us because of the development work carried out throughout the state.” Trinamool Congress chief said no discrimination had been carried out while carrying out development projects. “Our organisation was weak in Malda and Murshidabad but we did not discriminate while carrying out development work. The students have got cycles under Sabuj Sathi project. Kanyashree project has immensely benefited women and the students from minority community have received scholarships.”

She said that rice at Rs 2 per kg had helped all sections of society who were financially challenged. “I had instructed my workers that under no circumstances discrimination should be made while selecting the beneficiaries.”

She alleged that the erstwhile Left Front government had believed in divide and rule policy and those supporting them only got the benefits. She said despite financial constraints development had been carried out in West Bengal and more development projects would be taken up in future. “I would like to see our boys and girls getting recognition all over the world. Our students are talented and what they need is support. The state government is there to give them support.”

Lashing out at the Opposition she said: “The Opposition has formed an unholy alliance which is not based on ethics, “adding that the people will never forgive this unholy alliance. She said: “I really wonder how Congress which is an all India party has held the hands of the CPI(M), their arch rival. It is an alliance of opportunism and such opportunistic politics have no place in West Bengal.”
Banerjee also addressed rallies at Khirpai and Chandrakona.

Meanwhile, in Kolkata TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay accused the erstwhile Left Front regime of making a “faulty plan” for building the flyover that collapsed on Thursday,  on Friday said there were complaints among the locals about its planning.
