Alcheringa city auditions

‘Alcheringa’, the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahat will take place in the first week of February 2017. Started in 1996 by a group of students of IIT Guwahati, Alcheringa has now become one of the biggest college level cultural events in Asia. Spread over 3 days and 4 nights, Alcheringa attracts people from all over the world with its spectacular events and competitions. This time it will be on from February 2 – 5.

Alcheringa, IIT Guwahati is conducting a city audition of its event Halla Bol (Street Play competition) in the national Capital. The auditions will be held at Shri Aurobindo College, New Delhi today from 12 noon to 4PM. The judging criteria include performance in acting (dialogue delivery, expressions, body movements); presentation encompassing costumes, music, props and use of stage; successfully depicting the plot or theme and most importantly ‘originality’. The performances are required to be only in English, Hindi or Assamese. Winners of the City Audition shall have a change to perform at the Halla Bol main event to be held at Alcheringa, IIT Guwahati. Prizes worth Rs 50,000 are available for grabs by the winners of the main event of Halla Bol. The winning team of the City Audition will get full two-way travel reimbursement while the runner-up will receive two-way travel reimbursement of 70% to IIT Guwahati during Alcheringa.
