Akhilesh Yadav rejects demand of common candidate against Modi

Uttar Pradesh chief minister and SP state president Akhilesh Yadav said:’ We have the strongest candidate in Varanasi against Modi and if other secular parties want they can support our candidate.’

Addressing a press conference, Yadav said that the party’s candidate Kailash Chaurasia was a strong candidate from Varanasi. Beside government’s achievement would given an edge. ‘ We have also also strong party organisation in Varanasi which will help the party candidate to give a good fight against Modi,’ he said.

‘’This time the elections in UP will be historic one as all parties have taken special care about the political equations in the state and the result of UP would decide the fate of the country,’’ he said.
The CM did not spare BSP supremo Mayawati and Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal.  ‘’How can a political party go for elections without a poll manifesto like BSP is doing. A political party should promise what they will do for the people if they achieve the power. But the BSP has promised nothing,’’ he said.

On Kejriwal, Yadav said that,’’ he has copied our cap. The only difference is that we have red caps while they have white.’’

The SP state president was also critical on the BJP and said that the party which started its campaign on development and promised to promote Gujarat model is now talking about spreading communal hatred. He said BJP which was once riding on high popularity is also on downfall and the inner bickerings in the party has demoralised their rank and files.

He said that the SP is going to the elections with its work and achievements. ‘’We have returned the public funds to the people and  distribution of laptops was the biggest ever social work done by any government in the country,’’ he claimed.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party received a shot in its arm when a sitting BSP MP and several other former legislators from other parties joined the party in presence of Akhilesh Yadav.. BSP Lok Sabha member from Gautam Buddha Nagar seat Surendra Nagar joined the SP along with his supporters. BSP has not given the ticket to the leader this time.
