Expressing concern over rising cases of crime involving SP leaders and workers in Uttar Pradesh, BJP on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was unable to contain administration and his party cadre.
'After taking the oath, Akhilesh advised his workers to remain vigilant towards the interests of the people, but SP cadre is openly challenging the law and order in the state,' BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak alleged.
'Even the administration officials are fearlessly overlooking the directives of the CM,' he said.
Pathak condemned alleged manhandling of a district panchayati raj officer by a SP workers in Lakhimpur district yesterday.
'This is not the lone incident of hoologanism involving SP workers. This trend started on the day of swearing in ceremony of the CM when some workers climbed the dias and created ruckus on 15 March,' he alleged.
The spokesman alleged that anarchy which started on oath day continued till this date.
'A SP MLA threatened a police officer in Allahabad district...policemen were chased and assaulted by SP workers in Farukkhabad and these incidents are mere example,' he said.
Pathak demanded that as the CM was also state president he should immediately take action against the guilty to check such incidents.
'Despite the clear cut directives of the CM, officials are not sitting in their offices to hear and redress public complaints. Situation could be gauged from the fact that the CM has to issue fresh directives yesterday,' he alleged.
Pathak said that the CM should immediately control his party cadre and take strict view of the violation of directives by the officials.
