Akhilesh to meet MPs, MLAs after budget session

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would meet the Members of Parliament and legislators after the budget session of the state assembly, a government spokesman said in a statement issued here on Monday.

CM meets people's representatives including MPs and legislators on every Tuesday and holds Janata darshan on first and third Wednesday of every month.

The spokesman said that owing to the busy schedule of chief minister he would not be meeting people's representatives on Tuesday. The next meeting will be held after Budget session of the state legislature beginning from 28 May, he said.

Similarly, the Janata Darshan will be held after the state assembly, he said. Yadav had so far held two Janata Darshans in last one month where he had met over 20,000 people and had received over 12,000 applications.

The chief minister has however asked the Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and  District Police Chiefs to meet people on every Wednesday between 10 and 12 noon. The village level officers like BDO and Tehsildars have been asked to meet people every day in their respective offices.

In a communication to the Divisional Commissioner Yadav said that majority of the complaints he had received in the Janata Darshan could have been redressed at the ground level only by the BDOs and Tehsildars. 'If these officials meet people regularly they would not be coming to Lucknow with their complaints. This would save money and time of poor people,' he said.

In the countdown to the 2014 elections in the country, the Samajwadi Party on Monday officially made it's political agenda clear of making Mulayam Singh Yadav as the Prime Minister of the country.'

'Chaudhary Charan Singh's dream was to uplift the farmers of the country and now this dream can be fulfilled by making Mulayam Singh Yadav as the Prime Minister in 2014,' said party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary in Lucknow.
