Akhilesh questions media’s role; says need to popularise good work of govt

‘We are trying to serve the people through different development and welfare schemes but it is unfortunate that we are unable publicise our work,’ he said while adding that some management system have to be evolved to counter bad press.
The CM said the good work of the government only stays for a day or two and after that negative media reports are visible. ‘We are working to bring the health services on the track despite the loot of previous BSP government,’ he said.
The CM also criticised the way Muzaffarnagar issue was politicized by alleging that the UP government was appeasing Muslims. ‘We have done whatever we could do for the Muzaffarnagar riot victims, but some people moved the Supreme Court against our effort,’ he added.
Yadav, who flagged off 102 Ambulance Service in the state at his official residence in the presence of several ministers said 102 ambulance service would be launched with 972 ambulances in the first phase and later 1000 more ambulances would be added in it.
This 102 Ambulance Service would provide free transport to the pregnant women to government hospitals and return to their houses with the newly born infants.
The CM said this new 102 Ambulances would provide at least 15,000 jobs to the youth. On the occasion the CM also appreciated the GVK for running these ambulance service and thanked them for completing the Srinagar hydropower project of 330 megawatt on Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand. UP would receive all the power from the project except 12 per cent reserved for the Uttarakhand.
