Ajit Kumar is India’s UN rep

The government on Thursday appointed Ajit Kumar, India’s Consul General at Atlanta, in the US, as ambassador and permanent representative of the country to the United Nations offices in Geneva. An official statement here said that Ajit Kumar was expected to take up his assignment shortly. The government also appointed Vishnu Prakash, currently India’s ambassador in South Korea, as the next High Commissioner to Canada.
