Airports in Delhi, four bordering states put on high alert

“There is no specific threat. But as a precaution, we have put all bordering states airports and in Delhi on high alert,” said OP Singh, chief of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has guards airports all across the country.

After the announcement of surgical strikes on launch pads of terrorists in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) on the night of September 29, the government had sounded high alert all across the country and states bordering Pakistan were asked in particular not to lower their guard due to apprehension of a retaliatory strike from across the border.

During high alert, more random and detailed checks of passengers and their baggage take place and parking and loading areas are specifically monitored.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has asked police chiefs of all four states and the CISF to extra careful.

Intelligence agencies have already warned the government that Pakistan may try to push more terrorists following the surgical strikes. According to an intelligence assessment more than 100 terrorists have been gathered by Pakistan spy agency ISI to be pushed into the Valley.
