AIBEA to protest against privatisation of banks

The members of the AIBEA said that the strike is mainly to articulate their various demands which includes increase in the number of the staff members as the present numbers are not enough, increase of the bank loan defaulters and also against the Centre’s decision to work towards the privatisation of banks.

The staff members of various banks have complained that many were forced to work on the basis of contract with the companies. Bank Mitra posts were created through which the outsiders were being engaged in works at much cheaper rate and as a result of this, the customers are becoming victims of some dishonest persons. 

Many people were not able to pay their loans resulting in huge losses for the banks. Rajen Nagar, president of the AIBEA said that they have called for a strike to protest against the Centre’s various moves that will affect the banking sector immensely.

 Around 10 lakh crores of loans was not paid off.They said that they would also stage protest movement and agitation in front of various branches of the banks on June 20, while on June 30, they will also organise a sit-in demonstration to meet their various demands. 

All the members of the organisation also threatened to hit the street against the Centre’s various recent moves, which they have claimed to be anti -people.They also said that they will increase the scale of the protest against the Centre’s decision of the privatisation gradually.
