Two girls from the Northeast India were allegedly molested by an Air India crew member in the upscale Hotel Ashok in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi on Friday. The incident occurred at about 9 pm on Tuesday night, when the two girls were coming out of the hotel after having dinner.
The accused, identified as Paramjeet Singh, who was alleged to be in an inebriated state, stopped them in the lobby and made derogatory remarks. He even molested them. The girls screamed at him and the hotel security staff gathered at the spot. 'The victims then made a call to the police and the local cops reached the hotel within minutes from the call,' a Delhi Police official said.
Singh, who hails from Palwal in Haryana, was taken into police custody and later he was booked under Sections 323 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of the complaint made by the victims. Singh was later released on bail. The joint commissioner of police, central range, Taj Hassan confirmed the incident and said that the accused had been caught.
'We can't say much about the victims, apart from the fact that every possible action was taken,' the cops added.
