Agra conversion row: Son, relative of main accused held

The son and a relative of Nand Kishore Balmiki, the main accused in the Agra conversion row case, were on Sunday arrested from Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. 

According to Agra city SP Samir Sourav, though Nand Kishore managed to give police the slip, his son Rahul Balmiki and relative Krishna Kumar were arrested from a guest house in Mehta Park area of Etah district this afternoon. A car was also seized from them.

Police are conducting raids in various areas to arrest the main accused and have announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on information leading to his arrest. 

The police officer said they were interrogating the two arrested. Balmiki is accused of “forced conversion” of about 100 people mostly Muslim slum dwellers in Agra to Hinduism.
