African woman alleges gang rape in Capital

On Friday, a 20-year-old Congo national was allegedly gang-raped by two cloth merchants at her residence in Malviya Nagar. The accused remain unidentified. According to the police, on Friday evening, the victim arrived at the Malviya Nagar police station alleging that she was raped by two men. ‘She has given a written complaint at the police station and investigations are underway,’ a police official said. An FIR has been registered.
The victim told police that two men pretending to be cloth merchants knocked on her door. She said they lured her by giving decent offers. The accused were sitting at the doorstep of her rented accommodation in Hauz Rani, which falls under the Malviya Nagar area. When the Congo national was busy choosing clothes for herself, one of them allegedly overpowered her and forced her inside the apartment. In the meantime, the other person locked the door from inside and then the two took turns to rape her.
