Acid attack on woman doctor in West Delhi

Two motorcycle borne miscreants on Tuesday morning threw acid on a 30-year-old woman doctor. At the time of the incident the victim was  going to work on her her two-wheeler. The incident took place in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area. The accused remained untraceable till late evening.

The incident took place at around 9.20 am when Amrit Kaur, a resident of Hari Nagar was going to work at ESI Hospital in Raja Garden, where she is posted. She was riding a white color scooty and her face was covered with a Dupatta and was wearing helmet. In the meantime, two persons on a black Discover motorcycle came near her and threw acid on her face.

The whole act was captured in a CCTV camera installed outside a shop of a local market in Rajouri Garden. According to the CCTV footage, two men approached her and tried to snatch her bag that she had kept in front of the scooty. Within a fraction of second, one of the assailants threw acid on her face and managed to escape from the spot.

According to the sources in the department, in the initial investigation it seems like a case of either a personal enmity. Amrit Kaur had got married eight months ago. Her husband has also not been given a clean chit so far. His identity was not disclosed by police and is being quizzed by the cops.
