Abhishek Banerjee’s condition remains the same

The condition of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee continues to remain the same, according to a medical bulletin issued by Belle Vue Clinic authorities.

He continues to have fever, acute body ache and is intermittently on oxygen support. He has been shifted to the Special Critical Care Room.

On Friday he went through extensive eye tests. He was examined by Dr Sukumar Mukherjee, senior consultant physician.

Sources said a team of eye specialists from AIIMS had come to the hospital on Friday and examined him. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to the clinic late on Friday evening and stayed there for some hours. Trinamool Congress leaders Sovan Chatterjee and Aroop Biswas were with her. Sources further said Banerjee’s pulse rate dropped on Friday night.

Banerjee is undergoing treatment at Belle Vue Clinic since Tuesday when the car he was travelling in hit a stationary milk van which was being towed away by a recovery vehicle on Durgapur Expressway. A medical board comprising 13 doctors has been formed to determine the course of treatment.
