AAP to reverse LG decision on Bharti’s prosecution

While returning the file to LG Secretariat, AAP also blamed Jung for acting in “unusual hurry” and under pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 

  

Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain said: “I returned the file to LG as he was showing unusual hurry and creating unnecessary pressure to notify the decision on such a routine matter. I will bring the matter in the council of ministers.”

“LG should have acted as per the advice of Home <g data-gr-id="31">Minister</g> but he has not taken cognizance of the evidence submitted by the Home Department. The LG secretariat unusually flooded me with calls to notify the decision at the earliest or else they will notify it. I returned the file to LG office to notify if they want to do so,” added Jain.

Jain said LG took the decision on behalf of the Home Department without taking cognizance of the evidence submitted by them.

“It is a clear matter of difference of opinion. It was an old issue. Why LG had not given approval for prosecution when he was running <g data-gr-id="30">government</g> during the President’s rule?” asked Jain.

Jain further added: “LG gave his approval on July 31, 2015, just a day before the Delhi government had summoned a special session on women’s security. It seems he was working at the instance of the BJP. I received a call from LG office on August 5 to notify it soon or else LG office will notify it.” 

Jain further said the LG was bound to act on this issue according to his advice.
