AAP slams PM over Badal’s comparison with Mandela
Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment in a public event on Sunday, in which he had referred to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal as the Nelson Mandela of India, Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asked how Modi could compare Badal with Mandela.
Slamming the PM, the party said, “Dear PM, did Nelson Mandela lead his country into misery like the Badal family has done to Punjab? Did Mandela allow and encourage drug trade and drug abuse in his country like the Badals have in Punjab? Corruption and drugs are plaguing Punjab at their worst levels under the Badal rule. Shouldn’t the PM be sensitive to the people of Punjab who are suffering on a daily basis because of the <g data-gr-id="12">mis-governance</g> of CM Badal before comparing him to a world leader like Mandela?”
