AAP protests against detention of CM, Dy CM

Alleged suicide of an ex-serviceman witnessed series of protests and condolence meets on Thursday as AAP workers thronged the streets in large numbers. The protesters, demanding justice for the family of Ram Kishan Grewal, claimed to intensify their protest. Describing the detention of their party leaders by the police as an act of ‘undeclared emergency’, they said it was the ‘darkest night of democracy’.

Hundreds of AAP workers including Gopal Rai, Dilip Pandey, Kapil Mishra etc organised a condolence meet at Jantar Mantar. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders alleged that the Modi government is showing dictatorial attitude by preventing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia from meeting the family members of an ex-serviceman.

“The Centre is misleading ex-Army personnel over One Rank One Pension (ORPO) which led to the suicide of Grewal. The entire episode proves that the PM has misled Army persons over the issues before and after the elections and he should apologise to them. We appeal that the people of India raise their voice against the government and expose them,” said Gopal Rai.
