AAP launches drive to rope in overseas supporters

In a bid to revive its overseas support base,  the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday launched a new membership drive for their overseas friends. The party said that this is an initiative to strengthen the AAP overseas support groups (OSG). It added that those interested could get the membership till midnight of October 15, 2015. The drive is only for <g data-gr-id="25">Indian origin</g> persons living outside the country.

AAP PAC member and overseas convenor Kumar Vishwas will support the initiative. Vishwas in his <g data-gr-id="24">1.31 minute</g> video message urged overseas Indian to come forward to support AAP. 

“Corruption-free India is our goal and we are fighting <g data-gr-id="22">second</g> battle to make the nation corruption free. We have achieved success to a certain extent in Delhi and we want to repeat the same in the entire nation,” said Vishwas.

Earlier, during the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections,  AAP had got support from a network of volunteers, comprising students from over 40 universities in the US, Canada, Britain, Hungary and Singapore. 

The network of students and academicians had grown to include several global universities, where students took time out from their undergraduate and postgraduate studies to volunteer for AAP and collected donations from those willing to make financial contributions.

Earlier in February 2015, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) foreign funds were investigated by the Central government and nothing was found to be in violation of the law.
