AAP fields Anoop Khanna for Gautam Budh Nagar LS seat

Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Anoop Khanna from Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The Gautam Budh Nagar wing of AAP had received 100 applications and after screening 70 candidates, Anoop Khanna was selected.

Speculation in political circles suggest that he could be up against Narendra Bhati from the Samajwadi Party, Surendra Nagar (BSP) and Mahesh Sharma (BJP).

The process for receiving candidate forms for the constituency was closed after 8 February. The decision to field Khanna, who has been with the party since its inception, was taken by the party’s Political Affairs Committee.   ‘Our main motto is “Jhadu Chalo Beimaan Bhagao”. Corruption is prevalent in every level of our society and we can only clean it with a broom.  If I am elected, I will make sure to develop the district and provide stability to the area,’ said Anoop Khanna.

He added that if he is elected, his main focus will be on ensuring that school fees are not hiked by more than 10% in 3 years. Other promises include covering drains, wholesale markets for each and every commodity, increased health and sports facilities and solving  issues faced by farmers on a priority basis.

Khanna  is a pharmacist by profession. He is also the chairman of the chemist association in the district and has campaigned against arbitrary fee hikes by schools in Noida.
