AAP blames BJP for distributing fake letter hailing Mukhtar Ansari

The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) on Thursday blamed BJP for a fake letter in which the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has thanked Mukhtar Ansari for supporting him in the Lok Sabha battle against Narendra Modi in Varanasi. AAP will also take a legal action against a private news channel for defaming and spreading this false news based this fake letter.

The party said that the fake letter showing AAP thanking Mukhtar Ansari for giving his support to AAP, was being floated by BJP trolls. On the basis of this fake letter, a private TV channel runs a story that AAP has thanked Mukhtar Ansari for giving support in Varanasi. 

The party further said that it was ‘doctored’ letter has a fake letterhead which has an old logo of AAP which is no more in use by the party. Even the language used in the letter is typical of BJP trolls. AAP reiterates that it has not taken or sought any kind of support from Ansari.

Meanwhile, in the letter, ‘Arvind Kejriwal’ says after Ansari’s support, ‘Muslim votes will come to the AAP and we would be able to keep communal forces out of Varanasi.’

Meanwhile, AAP sources said that the fake letter to Ansari is an attempt to mislead Muslim voters as well to damage Kejriwal’s prospects among minority voters who see him as an anti-corruption icon. Setting the record straight, AAP declared on Sunday that it would not take the support of Ansari.

Earlier, AAP had denied any coalition with Mukhtar Ansari in Varanasi, AAP said that there prime focus is on to defeat communal forces in Varanasi. AAP clarified its stand after Ansari announced that will not contest the Varanasi seat against the BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi and the AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal. The decision has been taken to avoid the division of votes, Ansari’s party, the Quami Ekta Dal (QAD).

Quami Ekta Dal’s Ansari, a gangster-turned-politician and four-time MLA from Mau, is currently lodged in Agra jail in the BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai murder case.
