AAP assures all help to victim’s kin

Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Suchha Singh Chottepur on Thursday met Gurjant Singh, survivor in Abohar murder case, at a private hospital and announced his free medical treatment from the party side.

He also assured the family that AAP will fight till the justice.

Chottepur said, “Even 5 days after the Abohar Dalit murder case, police have still not arrested the prime accused in case, Shiv Lal Doda and his nephew Amit Doda at whose farmhouse the murder took place”. Police are working under the pressure of Akali leaders and hesitating to book Doda because of his association with Akali Dal, he alleged.

“We will not let the culprits roam free,” he said. He warned police to book Doda and his nephew in three days failing which the AAP will start agitation all over the state.

Chottepur alleged that the Badals have pushed Punjab towards failure in every sphere. He said that it is the result of the “terrible policies of the government that people are seeing no future in the state.”

Chottepur said that a Candle March will be organised on Friday “against the atrocities of police” all over the state.

Suspected henchmen of liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda, who is said to be a member of a prominent political party in the state, allegedly chopped off the limbs of the Dalit man, Bhim Sain (27), in the attack led by one Harpreet Harry after a heated exchange broke out between Sain and Harry on last Friday night in Abohar subdivision area.
