AAI starts computer training centre for aged and children under CSR programme

Airports Authority of India chairman, V P Agrawal inaugurated a computer training centre for aged and children at Ayudham Society, near Najafgargh on Friday.  The centre is established as a part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes of AAI and this is not the first that it has indulged in activities to provide a better life to marginalised communities.

As a socially responsible organisation AAI contributed towards development of the computer training centre which is going to be used by the inmates of the Ayudham Society for children and senior citizens. The centre runs through an integrated model of home for senior citizen as well as home for children from underprivileged communities. This is a distinctive model which facilitates psychological support for both the inmates of the home. The activities of the old age home includes stay, food, peer interaction, medical care, counseling and spiritual meetings etc. The senior citizens of the home also interact with the children who reside in the home, which fulfills the psychosocial vacuity for both.

Speaking on this occasion  Agrawal said: 'AAI continues to be a socially responsible organisation – committed for improving quality of life of the local communities and society at large'.  

With changing times, the computer training centre is designed to facilitate basic computer skills for the children and assist the children from nearby underprivileged communities in practicing and doing homework as per the course curriculum of their school. The centre will also have facility for accessing web based information for elderly inmates of the home. He further emphasized the need for participation of senior citizen, living in this NGO, to come forward to help the children to learn the real skills of life while sharing their experiences with children.

The CSR initiative strengthens AAI’s relationship and engagement with local communities and AAI is committed to undertake more projects as part of its business commitment for betterment of the local communities near the airports in future.
