AAI marks Fire Service Week with nationwide events, stresses safety

The theme of this year’s celebrations was to create awareness about safety. AAI Member (Operations) G K Chaukiyal was the chief guest at the function on 14th April and he presided over it as ‘Supreme Commander’.

The event was also graced by the presence of other senior AAI officers and staff.  The function was also attended by distinguished guests from other organisations, Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers, students and AAI staff members.

The Chief Guest and other dignitaries present on the occasion laid wreaths on the ‘Firefighters Memorial’ and paid homage to the martyrs.  Two minutes’ silence was observed for the firefighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Chaukiyal hoisted the Fire Service Flag and was given a Guard of Honor’ by Manager (FS) R P Naugain, and his squad.  The ‘Supreme Commander’ also received a salute from the marching squad from the saluting base.

A live demonstration of various firefighting and rescue techniques like physical training, cutting tools operation, pocket fire, rescue methods, rescue with ladder and rescue with rope, smoke extraction and rescue, lpg tray fire, breathing apparatus set, ladder leg lock firefighting, aircraft fire fighting, exhibition of firefighting equipment was made on the occasion.
