American Society for Quality India (ASQ India) during the first week of June 2012 will tie up with IIT Delhi's industry interfacing wing, Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) for jointly developing knowledge based systems and future best practices involving techniques and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and improving capabilities within Indian industry as well as PSU's to deliver products and services at higher efficiencies at lower costs.
This MOU is very timely considering that the energy and oil companies in India especially PSUs have to bring in greater operating discipline to manage costs using advanced operations management techniques and not just pass on the implications of higher crude costs or fluctuating foreign currency to the end consumer.
The collaboration would involve fundamental and applied research relevant to academics, industry and society and contribute to enhancing the standards of the professional education curriculum in India by making it more relevant to the industry with enhanced focus on creating future leaders who have knowledge of advanced techniques and problem solving skills which is currently a major lacunae. This MOU comes after a broad signing up with Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) and a slew of high quality-conscious educational institutions in the country.
The envisioned MoU is a firm foot forward to pioneer a new movement in Indian education systems. The new knowledge interface shall act as a role model to build up a standard ever since unknown in India. Â
