A spiritual band? Yes!

A spiritual band? Yes!
For Prateek Bhatia, music is a medium to attain spiritual realisation. Lead vocalist and guitarist of Delhi’s first spiritual band Gaurang, he is a strong follower of Iskcon.

Gaurang was formed around two years back after a series auditions of various artistes across Delhi. Now the band members are Sonu Sargam [guitar], Mohit Bansal [bass guitar] and Sankalp Menoki [drummer] along with Prateek.

Their music mainly preaches the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. On Janmashtami, the band will perform several of their renditions about Lord Krishna and his teachings. ‘Our music focuses on Vaishnava songs and bhajans which aim to strengthen the bond with the God,’ said Prateek.

Prateek, who is pursuing an MBA currently, feels the journey till now has been blessed by Krishna. ‘To fulfil the inflow of money, I take guitar classes,’ says the 23-year-old. The band has won many hearts with their self-composed soulful songs in praise of Lord Krishna.
