A Korean ensemble

The Korean Culture Festival 2016 thrilled the Indian audience during its two-day celebration organised at Pragati Maidan, Hansdhwani theatre. The festival was jointly hosted by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korean Cultural Centre India. 

More than 15,000 audiences enjoyed the festival which witnessed some striking performance by Acian group – a four-member South Korean boy group- which made everyone tap their feet with their famous album ‘Stuck’, rocking performance by BIG band members and hilarious comedy of Ongals group left the crowd with big smiles. 

The presence of Tara Gandhi as chief guest- Grand Daughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Cho Hyun - Ambassador of Republic of Korea to India, Kim Kum Pyoung – Director of Korean Culture Centre India and Choi Jan Won – Director of Korea Culture and Information service graced the occasion.

People also enjoyed an exhilarating taekwondo performance by Kukkiwon group. Visitors at the festival enjoyed Korean-Beauty, food, fashion, Travel and Business sections. Renowned Korean chef Shin Hyo Sub not only demonstrated the technique of cooking Korean food but also gave the opportunity to enjoy the most loved Korean dish.

Cho Hyun, the Ambassador of Republic of Korea to India said, “I am glad that Korea was invited as a partner country in Trade Fair 2016. Korea has very sound technology which needs Indian market and Korea equally needs highly brainy Indian professionals in Korean companies. In realm of culture both countries share commonalities that brings them together.”
