A celebration of songs, sounds and taals

This celebration of classical music was organised to pay a tribute to legendary flute player Pandit Raghunath Prasanna, in association with Gail India Limited  ANZ, BNP, and DBS.

Classical singer Rini Mukherjee gave shranddhanjali to Prasanna which was followed by legendary flute player Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and classical vocal by legend Pt Rajan and Pandit Sajan Mishra.
During the event Pt Rajendra Prasanna along with Rishab, Rajesh and Ritesh Prasanna presented the flute recital. Kathak was performed by Deepak Maharaj and Pandit Birju Maharaj took the event into the new height of excellence.

Mukherjee presented magnificent performances with her melodious voice that has regaled the mammoth audiences earlier on various occasions. Harmonious renditions at higher octave with difficult meters drew rich applause. Chaurasia said 'Rini is very talented. Her voice is very melodious with command in higher octaves'. Mukherjee, who was accompanied by her guru Biswajit Chatterjee, started with Rabindra Sangeet in Hindi and followed by bhajans and Nazrul Geeti.

Mukherjee’s versatility with bhajans like Aaj Shyam Moholina on Raga Khambaj, Itni binti raghu nandana on Raga Desh and the Nazrul geeti with Palash Phooler (on Raga Shankara with taal Rupak) and Gazal Karuno Keno Aruno Ankhi mesmerised audiences.
