9 doctors repatriated

Nine doctors from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and GB Hospital, have been repatriated by the Delhi government and asked to continue their services at Central government-run hospitals.

The nine doctors were directed to join Safdarjung Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College and RML Hospital. The order was issued on October 5. The doctors, however, have protested against the order. They claim that the Delhi government gave the direction because the doctors had opposed the move to convert the office of medical superintendent at LNJP Hospital into an office for Directorate General of Health Services of Delhi government.

These doctors had been asked to surrender their services earlier as well, but the order was stayed by the Central Administrative Tribunal.
