8-year-old raped, sister’s private parts stubbed for resisting molestation bid

Police said that the incident took place when the victims’ parents had gone out for work. The girls have been admitted to a nearby hospital from where they were referred to Hedgewar Hospital in 

Delhi. Police registered a case and the accused Basant (25), alias Satender, has been arrested.

According to the police, the incident took place in Maharajpur area on Thursday evening when Basant, the son of the landlord, entered the victims’ house.  The accused, after finding them alone, forced himself on the elder sister. While resisting his attempt, the girl was brutally assaulted which caused severe injuries in her private parts. 

The accused then burnt her sister’s private parts causing severe injuries to her as well. Basant then fled the room leaving the two reeling in pain.

When their parents, who work in separate companies in Sahibabad Industrial Site-IV, came back home, the elder girl narrated the entire ordeal. Both the girls complained of acute pain in their abdomen and other parts too. 

The family then took them to a nearby hospital where they came to know about the brutality inflicted on their children.  On Friday early morning, the victims were shifted to Hedgewar Hospital in Karkardooma where they are said to be recuperating.

After admitting them to Hedgewar Hospital, the family lodged a complaint at the Link Road police station following which an FIR was registered against Basant under Section 376 and other sections of the IPC and under sections of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act. 

The victims’ father, in his complaint, said that both the girls have been tortured brutally by Basant which has resulted in severe injuries on their private parts. He also demanded stringent action against the accused who is still at large. 

“The way both have been assaulted is shocking. The guilty must be punished for his act,” the father told media.

Meanwhile, the victims’ family was forced to vacate the rented accommodation by the landlord as 

they sought penal action against his son.
